Perhaps the most impressive addition to the Arkham series will be the subtraction of loading screens. The developers have optimized Arkham Knight for the Xbox One and PS4 and they've done it in a way so as to make all of Gotham appear seamless.

Batman: Arkham Knight will be finding its way to shelves everywhere sometime in 2015. Arkham Knight is the fourth title in the highly successful Arkham series developed by Rocksteady Games. The first entry in the series dates all the way back to 2009's highly coveted Arkham Asylum. With Arkham Knight on deck fans are already clamoring to hear more about what should be one of the most popular releases for the next gen consoles that are rapidly rising in popularity. Let's dig deep and find out just what we should be expecting when Arkham Knight finally makes its way into our consoles.
Arkham Knight is set one year after Batman: Arkham City. Players will once again put on the iconic cowl to follow along as Batman, who is voiced by Kevin Controy, has to contend with Gotham's greatest enemy: The Arkham Knight. Wayne is still reeling from the loss of his greatest enemy, the Joker, and struggling mightily with finding his place in the peaceful aftermath. Perhaps thankfully for Batman, peace is not long for his world. Scarecrow has come back to Gotham in attempt to pull together all of the greatest villains that Gotham has ever faced in order to take down Bats once in for awhile. Players will get to see Scarecrow, Penguin, Harley Quinn, the Riddler and even Two Face throughout their journey. So who is this Arkham Knight? Well, you'll have to tune in to find out. The character was specially created by Rocksteady Games along with DC Comics writer Geoff Johns. The few details that have made their way to the public paint the Arkham Knight as a militant Batman knock off with a giant A emblazoned on his torso.
Fans of the Arkham series continually pick up their controller in order to see their favorites from DC lore brought to life. It is something that many new fans might take for granted, but never before in gaming history have we been so able to immerse ourselves into these worlds. Arkham Knight features a Gotham City that is fives times the scale of the Arkham City Prison from the last entry. The game is split up into several different island areas and players will be forced to navigate through all of them in order to accomplish their various missions.
While it is an understandable fear that Arkham Knight will rehash the same gameplay elements with a new story, it is one that can quickly be assuaged. As Arkham Knight will be the final entry into the storied Arkham series, you can rest assured that Rocksteady Games has prepared something quite special for fans. For the first time in series history gamers will be able to hop behind the wheel of the Batmobile. This is almost as cool sounding as it actually is when functioning. The Batmobile can traverse environments as well as alter them. it can crush, smash, and blow through many of the things that litter the crowded Gotham landscape. There is also an emergency launcher installed into the vehicle that will allow players to launch themselves out in order to continue the fight in a hand to hand fashion.
Not only does Rocksteady offer the ability to get behind the wheel of the Batmobile but they also are giving players who pre-order the game the ability to play as Harley Quinn. Quinn has her own set of fighting techniques, special gadgets, and unique dialogue. While it is certainly a little gimmicky to force users to pre-order something in order to get a full experience, we've found that it is probably worth the price as you will get an additional four challenge maps. Downloadable content will also be available at launch.
Perhaps the most impressive addition to the Arkham series will be the subtraction of loading screens. The developers have optimized Arkham Knight for the Xbox One and PS4 and they've done it in a way so as to make all of Gotham appear seamless. With Rocksteady's incredible attention to detail and their continued support from the big wigs at DC we can only expect the best out of Batman's final journey in the Arkham video game series. If you are on the fence about this entry we hope that we pushed you to jump over, this game will be special.
