The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time for the 3DS follows the character Link through the world of Hyrule. Link lives in the outskirts of the Hyrule Field in a small village referred to as the Kokiri Forest. It is here that Link is met by his very own fairy, Navi for the first time. Link's new fairy Navi warns Link that the Kokiri Forest's Guardian the Great Deku Tree has summoned him. Upon finding a sword and shield, Link goes to meet the Great Deku Tree who informs him of his destiny to find the princess Zelda and eradicate the evil that has shrouded the world of Hyrule.
Link's journey will take him across many different areas of the Hyrule world as well as a number of dungeons, ruins and temples. There Link will uncover the story behind Hyrule, it's inhabitants and the true power behind the Triforce. On the journey, the player will also come across many items, important gameplay weapons, artifacts and other information that pertains to the story.
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time for the 3DS is exactly the same game as the original Ocarina of Time except the graphics, textures and animations of characters have been redefined and improved. There are also other gameplay features that are unique to the 3DS as well. For example, players may use the bottom portion of the screen on their 3DS to assign items to the quick access buttons in the player's HUD. The bottom screen may also be used to browse items in the player's inventory while still engaged in the main gameplay on the screen above.
The Legend of Zelda also has other features embedded such as the Master Quest with tweaked dungeon layouts and also a Boss Gauntlet Mode. The Boss Gauntlet Mode allows players to battle against previously defeated bosses in the game. One of the most notable additions to the 3DS version of Ocarina of Time are Sheikah Stones. These Sheikah Stones will give players hints throughout the level if the player gets stumped and needs some advice.
When it comes down to it, this version of the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is exactly the same as the original version with upgraded character models, cut scenes, remodeled character animations and improved textures in the environment such as the bricks in the castle wall, wall textures, ground textures and more. The addition of the quick access inventory option via the bottom screen of the 3DS is a user friendly way to quickly equip a weapon, object or other item the player needs immediate access to.
The updates included in this game version make it a game to collect and only expands on the Zelda universe. For anyone who has never experienced the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, it is never a better time to pick up the newly remodeled version for the 3DS. The 3DS version will allow first time players to experience Ocarina of Time as it was meant to originally be played along with added benefits from the new game version.
