With the game set up in Seacrest County, you’ll find awesome roads away from the city lights, and even traffic laws of different standards. EA has collaborated with Criterion here and resulted in a great driving experience like you’ve never seen it before.

This game focuses on driving the hottest cars you can choose from – Porsche, Bentley, Mercedes, Lamborghini, and more, in a place where you need to crash into each other to gain points. It is really more of a mad game with no story so that you can do almost anything just like a maniac. You can either be a policeman or an illegal racer, both of which you can drive and crash to the other cars. However, you can unlock cars, but you cannot collect them to put them over a garage. But well, who cares as long as you get to drive those hot and expensive cars? Scenes and landscapes are pretty dramatic yet everything seems real – even weather conditions, aircrafts, sunset and sundown.

You can also go in lots of different events in Hot Pursuit, which is one of the great features of the game. You can be a racer and choose events, either being chased by a cop or fighting against a co-racer. You can do the same being a cop, choose an event, and to go and try to stop these illegal races. You can also have different weapons depending on your character. As a racer, you can send of spikes and EMPs to enemy cops. You even have a jammer to shut down the weapons around you as well as turbo for ultrafast driving. As a cop, you can set up spikes, EMPs, helicopters, and roadblocks to trap racers.

EA and Criterion managed to keep the weaponry balanced, so that no side would get underpowered. It is just kind of a letdown that there are lots of events but nearly not as much range of weapon. Soon it will all get repetitive and tiring, though you can mix up every weapon for some time.

Criterion also adds in the new Autolog feature. Once you’re tired doing chases with the AI, you can fight off with all the other players globally online. Or you can play the game again just to win a rank over the other players on the leaderboard. What’s different on this one however is you have the option to choose to compare only from your circle of friends and get connected real-time. You can see how they’re doing currently and which cars they drive so far. This dares you to go again playing and beat them. Once you succeed, you can even trash-talk a friend with a customized message.

The Autolog also has a multiplayer mode for up to eight players. This is fun as well as there are also weapon strategies you can use together to battle. However, there’s no split-screen, but overall, this game is still amazing, breath-taking, spectacular and entertaining. Well worth a try and I would recommend it to other gamers.
