Resident Evil 5 Xbox 360 User Review
Now is your time to get revenge as ten years in Raccoon City. Guess what, this time it has been destroyed. You are an agent for the B.S.A.A and you play as Chris Redfield. Your mission is to destroy Umbrella’s creations, which have fallen under the wrong hands of terrorists after its downfall. You will soon discover that Umbrella will make a big deal with the African nation of Kijuju, so he sets out to stop the transaction and also learn about a mysterious doomsday project known only as Uroboros. Your mission is to simply stop it. Chris is accompanied by Sheva Alomar, a Kijuju B.S.A.A. agent, and together they battle infected and mutated villagers, monsters, and Albert Wesker. There are tons of awesome cut scenes and like most RE games you can blow their heads off.
Resident Evil 5 is the latest offer in the long – running franchise of Resident Evil. It expands on the action – oriented formula of previous releases and is built to effectively support cooperative gameplay. Resident Evil 5 manages to retain and translate the tension into the new mechanics, creating a game that will have your heart pounding at every playing minute.
The core combat mechanics are still the same as that of Resident Evil 4 – action happens at over – the – shoulder perspective, cut scenes are accompanied by quick time events, and you need to stay still to be able to fire your weapon. People wanting and expecting a run – and – gun game may find these mechanics too bothersome. However, the enemies are somewhat predictable so you still have the upper hand. The Xbox 360 controller is fully supported, though the standard mouse/keyboard combination offers amore precise aim and control.
For co – op play, whenever someone drops by, the game is interrupted. Having the split – screen mode means you will be returned to main inventory screen to confirm arms and weapons and then restarting your journey from the last checkpoint. Playing online proves to be more problematic as the person who joined has to sit on the sidelines until the host either restarts from the last checkpoint or continues on to the next. Trading is limited to healing items and ammunition, weapons not included.
Resident Evil 5 lasts for 12 hours which is shorter than Resident Evil 4; but once you have finished it, there are still things to do. You can look for hidden B.S.A.A. badges on the different levels, challenge chapters to get a better score, and play in 3 initial difficulties with a 4th unlockable. This game has successfully built upon the foundations of its predecessor while taking it into a different direction. Having a friend around to watch your back adds new excitement and tension making up a fun and exciting adventure, unless they suck at the game lol.
I have played this game for a long time and it never gets old, I am always trying to unlock a number of guns and stuff.
