Mario Party for DS is one of my favorite Mario games, in the game you are trying to escape Bowser’s anger after he turned them into miniature people who he thinks cannot do anything to harm him, or so he thinks!

Mario Party is playable with 8 characters from the Mario Brothers franchise: Mario, Luigi, Wario, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Daisy, Waiuigi, and Toad. There are 5 board/mini games for the Story mode. In a board game, your character will have 3 opponents, defeat them and proceed to the next level until you come to the final level wherein you encounter a difficult boss as a means to prove your skills and strength. Finish one board game, and then proceed to the next until you have finished all 5. As you make progress throughout the game, you can earn points that will enable you to unlock special items, badges, and Mario Points along the way.

Once on the game menu, there are 6 main selections, Story Mode, Party Mode, Minigame Mode, Puzzle Mode, Multiplayer, and Gallery. Story mode has been discussed above, while in Party Mode, you create your own battles, Battle Royale, Tag Battle, or Dual Battle and choose the character that will represent you. Choose your allies and enemies then make some tweaks in the settings and you’re good to go!

For Minigame Mode, you can replay the minigames that you have unlocked in the Story Mode. Choose your character, enemy, difficulty level, and start playing. It is in here that you can set new courses again if you didn’t like the ones you made for yourself in Story Mode.

Puzzle Mode involves exercising the brain to gain points, while in Multiplayer you can host a Mario Party with your friends as the visitors. One person has to have a game card, and up to three persons can connect.

Check out your unlockables in the Gallery!

As expected with Mario games that are sometimes older than some of its players, Nintendo has delivered an awesome game with Mario Party. People from all ages will be satisfied with the minigames, and the game is top notch. Everyone who owns a DS should have this one!

This blast from the past is all about an endearing cast of characters with incredible story lines that took places in all the ages from past, future to present. The story starts when Chrono, the main character of the game celebrates the millennial anniversary of their Kingdom- Guardia by sleeping in. His mom wakes him up and flees to the festivities, he then ends up watching a demonstration of a teleportation device which unfortunately malfunctions and takes him and one of his friends through a rift in the space-time continuum. Having only a spiky hair and a wooden sword, Chrono together with his friend Marle makes their way out through the past to prevent the situation that they are in. Unfortunately, on their journey to fixing the mistakes that they have done in the past; they end up preventing a tragedy in the future instead.

As you go along the game, you will be encountering allies which will help you save the future. These exceptional casts of allies include the heroic Frog who was a medieval knight before he became an amphibian, Robo who is a humanoid robot from the far future who has a passion for gardening and Ayla who is a strong chieftain of a tribe. These exceptionally strong individuals will be your allies for vanquishing the villains like Azala, the queen of a race of powerful dinosaurs, Magus, a powerful sorcerer also known as Feinlord. From the beginning to the ending of this adventure, you will be satisfied with the excellent combination of storytelling and character development as you progress through the game.

The combat system of this game allows you to control three separate parties separately and permits you to combine the skills that each character posses in order to create a bigger, more powerful technique. With the time traveling that the main character can do, you need to be careful when making that traveling since it may vary the present world or the future. This can cause the gameplay to change as well as results that you can get from your quests.

Visually, this game hasn’t change through the years but the story lines and other extra contents can be very much stimulating and challenging.

The game Batman The Brave and the Bold feature a four episode format that is started with the intro that is the same with that from the cartoon. Just like the show, Batman gets teamed up with Robin, a superhero sidekick to play throughout that episode. The game is extremely as authentic as the series and is highly polished.

Aside from Robin, Batman also teams up with good guys like Aquaman, Green Lantern, Plastic Man, and a whole lot more super heroes. Either you can control these other sidekicks or you can let the A.I. handle that. Aside from the help you can get from your sidekick, you will also be able to use your handy-dandy utility belt that batman always carries around. His belt consists of high-tech gadgets that can blow up objects, shoots out a rope, the good old “batarang”, and a lot more. You can upgrade these devices on the levels to get a bit more advantage on the game.

This game has a cell-shaded character scheme that is used as a detail for each of the superheroes. The animated movements of the characters are also well executed and quite visually entertaining. In addition, the voice acting of the main character as well as the other superhero sidekicks is fantastic.

Each hero has his or her own “one liners” that distinguishes them from the other. The humor is also terrific since the entire voice cast of the show is narrating their characters inside the game. Of course, the back ground music for Batman in all its series remains unchanged. You will recognize every bit of the soundtracks that are being used. This game has been rated a feel-good game because it is friendly, it’s got easy controllers as well.
