Dragon Age Origins is brought to you by BioWare, if BioWare brings out an RPG game you can pretty much assume that its going to be brilliant. They created the Star Wars Kinght's of The Old Republic series and the Mass Effect series, which are both unbelievably great RPG's too.

Story -- 9/10
The story is blatantly stolen from Lord of The Rings, weird Orc's looking things that live underground trying to kill everything. Typical its down to you to save the day, however picking it apart aside. The story line is not only very deep but also very clever; many choices effect not only how people treat you, if they know of you, how they think you will act and in some case's if they will even interact with you at all. The character customization is great too, not only can you customize how the look and your voice but you have your own background story which you play though leading up to the main event. Race and gender also give an eerily realistic difference to how you can be treated in certain situations.

Game Play -- 8.5/10
The game play is typical of the fantasy RPG game genre, it offers a simple attack technique in which you character continuously attacks the enemy. However you also have special moves which give you a more fun part to play rather than to sit back and wait until every thing is killed.

Graphics/Sound -- 9.5/10
The visuals, to put it bluntly, are brilliant. The worst I could spot was one conversation where the pixels didn't match up in a small section of the screen. However that was it, the sound is very good! The voice's are almost perfectly synced wand suite the characters, and you may recognize voices which will submerge you even deeper into the story.

Extra's
The game offers plenty of hidden extras which will amaze you when they become part of your characters own story. The side quest offer much distraction when you want to level up your character, character customisation makes you truly feel as if your character is unique. With the three different race's and three different class's creates a practically different story for each, which gives major re-playability (Is that a word?).

Overall this game starts well with great character customisation and background story's. Which leads into an unbelievable free-roaming world with additional (and optional) followers to aid on your battle. Throughout your choices make subtly effects to your own story line until the end in which some choices become an obvious hindrance or assistance. All of this leads to a great game with many more features that will make re-playing fun over and over again.

Sam Fisher returns in Splinter Cell Convition; as all great fans of splinter cell will know Sam Fisher is now on the run. He has gone in search for his daughters killer for revenge. If your new to the game series and you didn't know the background story...unfortunately they don't really tell you in the game. Other than the obvious remarks to him trying to find out who killed his daughter your going to be pretty lost, which was kinda a big error to start with. Especially when they talk about people you never meet and then you find out they died and your left sat there like "well why mention him if hes not in the game?" and the game (if it could talk) would say "well you should know". Which is awful stance for the game to take.

Anyway...

Story -- 6.5/10
Tom Clancy is a well known writer who would never write the same kinda crap over and over again, oh wait! The game starts off well and different from the last Splinter Cells, you are on your own and on the run from your old organisation which sounds fun and refreshing until you hear some terrorist are about to take over America. Classic Clancy stuff, which is the problem. He's done this many many times and its got to the point where the next splinter cell either has to be unbelievably brilliant or the last one for Sam Fisher at least.

Game Play -- 6/10
Nothing new other than the pretty awesome tag and kill system. In which you...tag and kill, it gives some pretty fun kills to watch but I always think anything you just watch in a game that isn't story relevant shouldn't be their. However the beauty of jumping down on to some guy and shooting 4 other guys in the head in about 2 seconds makes up for the fact you really do nothing. The control layout is different as per normal to Clancy games showing that he is "a head" of the gaming world. Takes a while to pick up but not to difficult.

Graphics -- 6.5/10
Over all, pretty good. That's about it really...
The other thing is that it gave a good cinematic feel which is a good and strong way of keeping the story going, however the story isn't that strong to start with so after a while the cinematic interrogations become a pain.

Online -- 4.5/10
While you are probably already getting the feeling that I hate this game and i am picking at all the bad points, I promise you this. The online is AWFUL, certain games are not meant to enter the online world and is clear that Splinter Cell Conviction is one of them; in the past Splinter Cells it was ok but with practically no players online and many bugs it falls short of what it could have been.

So overall I would say this game is not the worlds best, especially for the great Tom Clancy its a bit of a disappointment. For all of those great fans out there I would say buy it despite all of the above, its interesting to see the direction of the NEW Sam Fisher in a darker mood and it reveal's some secrets that you may remember. Most importantly to all new customers who are thinking about trying Splinter Cell for the first time here is what I say: BUY SPLINTER CELL: DOUBLE AGENT its much better and you don't need to know anything other than the basics (Sam Fisher is one awesome super agent). The story is way better, along with the characters and the choices that will impact on if each side believes your a traitor makes it even more difficult to make some moral decisions.

(Just like to add; some other reviews may say the opposite but I aimed this for people who are new to Splinter Cell)

Hope I was helpful =)

Kane & Lynch are back and its darker and deeper than ever. Kane, who you played in the first game, is mercenary who was convicted of killing tens of innocent people for which he denys. Lynch, who met Kane when he bust him out of death row, is a schizophrenic. Kane reluctantly teams back up with Lynch for another job, this time you play as Lynch. However they accidentally anger the Shanghai underworld and are left on their own.

Story -- 8.5/0
The story suits the game play well, the story finds them on their own. Against Shanghai underworld; full of twists, backstabs, death, betrayal and lots of blood, the story sticks true to its motive. The way that the characters are shown is perfect, we know they are not good guys but we still would hate to see them fall and die, however theres plenty of times when they do. This helps create unique characters and when we find a character dead this also shocks us back and lets us know that they are not afraid to kill off people, again drawing us deeper into the story.

Gameplay -- 9/10
The jump'y camera movements and style was inspired by the "Youtube look" as they call it. This helps give it a unique, gritty, dark amateur feel. However the cam holds its self still when you get into fights, this transition is so subtle that I, myself, have never noticed it. The layout is that of a basic third-person shooter with cover to use. A great example of how dark the game is, is a very odd one. The camera will normally blur out the image of someone you shoot in the face. While that sounds horrible and not very gruesome, when you run around and shoot some one point-blank in the face and it suddenly blurs it out, your attention is draw to it instantly and you will probably say "Awe man, I just shot that dude in the head!". However you may not say that as you are probably not a stereotypical 60's American teenager...anyway.

Graphics/Sound -- 8.5/10
The style compliments the characters and storyline well with the graphics matching a amateur video of two mad men you could find on the internet. The character detail is great, however the voice sync is not very well done. But the feel of the game is to always keep moving, hence the jump'y and rolling camera movements along with short cut-scenes to always keep you in the action. So you may notice bu just like me just sit there and think "Meh..." and carry on. The environments and weapons all feel realistic enough with time obviously spent on the more dominant areas, eg the cars, weapons, clothes and environmental reactions to fights.

Online -- 7.5
With a unique multi player and new type of online games it instantly sets its self as a unique game. It use's the lobby picking style, normally typical to computer online games, still allows people to join friends with alot of ease. Or make new friends through familiar lobby's. For a list of what online game style's there are you can find them on other sites, but a quick list is Fragile alliance, under cover cop and Cops and Robbers. For more info on what they are visit either, and/or any other game websites you know and trust. Just to leave you saying, there all brilliant online games.

Overall this game definitely tops the first Kane & Lynch and draws you into the world and thoughts of Lynch. To all new and old fans out there I say its a must buy, to new fans it doesn't matter which you buy first but I'm sure if you buy this you'll want the first so you can see some back story to what they say...so you might as well just buy that one first. Its cheaper and it will let you know if you like it.

Alan Wake is a well known writer, he and his wife take a holiday to Bright Falls. However when his wife goes missing Alan is taken on a story that will make him question not only reality but himself.

Story -- 8.5/10
One of Alan Wake's most powerful aspects is the story, full of twists and turns it will drive you to find out more. With small cut away levels that will allow you to delve into Alan Wake's life to understand more about how he thinks and what lead up to them going on holiday.

Graphics -- 7/10
The graphics are fairly good and does feel realistic enough, but as most of it is set in the dark the lighting is the most powerful effect for this game. It is clear the designers knew this and concentrated on it, unfortunately it is sill nothing to be amazed by. Cleverly you will probably soon forget about the graphics as this game will make you so paranoid and edgy that not having the best graphics in the world actually helps the game.

Game-play -- 8.5/10 (Suite's the game)
One of the other powerful aspects is the game-play, while it doesn't have the best aiming system, the best movement controls or any real cover system. This all manages to fit the game perfectly, your character is a writer not a soldier of course he cant aim a gun very well and the same for the movement. Him getting short of breath after running makes it a whole lot scarier when being chased. As for the no cover system this forces you to keep moving into forward (into danger).

Extra's -- 9/10
Alan Wake offers many hidden extra's with parts of manuscripts to be found and TV show's to watch which will make you feel even more on edge though out the game than normal. Not forgetting some great download-able content. If that doesn't make you carry on playing the game after you have completed it, then try playing it in the dark on nightmare mode.

I hope this was helpful =)

Mass Effect 2, the second Mass Effect if you hadn't guessed. You play Commander Shepard humanity's last hope, colonies on many worlds are disappearing and you are have been asked to find out what is going on. What you discover takes you on an epic journey which has only begun, this game is brought to you by BioWare. Lately BioWare have been experimenting trying to work out what is the best way to make an RPG game. They have certainly hit very close with this one.

Story -- 9/10
As for all RPG games the story is one of the most important aspect's; Mass Effect certainly delivers. The game cleverly makes it feel longer than it is with the entire story split up, first you have to get a team together, then discover how to get through a Mass relay and then the final battle. With an UNBELIEVABLE amount of side quest's and other ways of leveling up you can completely lose your self in this free roam, huge size, fully detailed universe for you character. Full of many twists that will shock and surprise you straight from the begging.

Game Play -- 8/10
The shooting system is basic enough with full control over you and your team mates, great cover system and that are realistic with your environments. You can use special powers, secret guns, explosives, special ammo types or just hit the crap out of your enemies to kill them; you wont get bored of killing bad guys trust me.

Graphics/Sound -- 8.5/10
This is a difficult one to explain, it will sometimes amaze you and take your breath away and others you'll think well I know they can do better than that. Overall however the details on your ship, characters, guns, planets and enemies will leave you in awe. BioWare in my opinion have always been brilliant with sound quality for many reasons, the voices suit the characters, lip sync is perfect and the emotions that the characters give are some times uncomfortably real. Mass Effect 2 just proofs me right; with a great team of voices for an almost impossible scale it will defiantly not disappoint.

Extra's
All great RPG's offer plenty of extra's if not to level up then just for fun, Mass Effect defiantly does not miss either of these. From simply helping a person for a discount on a shop or making some one (for no reason and no difference to the game) die or not die. All the way down to using the same character once you competed it for a special bonus when you start or importing you Mass Effect 1 character so you can play with your past choices still in effect. Not to mention brilliant Armour customisation and plenty of character back story's to help with.

To all new Mass Effect players I would say that you don't have to play Mass Effect 1 first, most of the stuff is told to you and a quick 30 seconds on the Internet will fill you in.

One last thought; it's clear their going to make a third one, not going to spoil the ending but yeah... If your fans of Dragon Age Origins/Awakening, the Knights of The Old Republic series and/or this game; do e-mail BioWare telling them what your favorite features are. They will use the most popular ones in Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2 and any other games they will make.

I Hope this helped and thanks for reading =)

Aliens Vs Predator has three campaign's; Aliens, Predator and Humans. The Alien campaign is mainly stealth and surprise attacks, the Predator campaign is mostly about brutal force and strength. The Human campaign you play a soldier who is caught between the other two characters, the Marine campaign is mostly a scary one.

Story -- 4.5/10
The story is very weak, it is completely stolen from the Alien Vs Predator movie. In which they find a big pyramid thing full of aliens in which the predators hunt them. It doesn't go into detail, or really mention whats going on. The main focus of the game seems to be the action; however the campaigns are very short. About 4/5 levels for all three character types.

Game Play -- 7/10
The game does however make a come back with its very unique game play. For the Marine character its basic first person shooter set-up. For Predator it's the same type but a very different feel, with the head's up display it almost feels as if you actual are a Predator. With the Alien it gets full marks however; it may not feel very "Alieny" but the great camera movement, fighting and the ability to climb on walls submerges you into the Alien instinct.

Online -- 5/10
The multiplayer is ok, ranging from classic Death Match to the ever so popular Survivor, it wont leave you wanting more. If that's a good thing, for pc user's you will be using Steam to play online which is one of the most popular online computer community's so there are plenty of people to play with.

Graphics -- 7.5/10
The graphics are very good, the weapons, environment, character's and lighting all seem very realistic. The environment, especially for the Marine campaign, is very clever; plants that look like Alien heads, vines that look like Alien tails, burst pipes that look like drooling Alien's and falling rocks that look as if an invisible Predator has landed near you. All this create a very uneasy mood.

Extra's
There are a few extra's, in the Marine campaign you can find hidden dairy's that give you a deeper back story to some characters. Other than this practically nothing else.

Overall I would say it would have been much better with a longer campaign, you could complete the whole thing in a single day. The multiplayer is ok, but would only really appeal to hardcore fans of the Alien Vs Predator series. One thing that bugs me is that it force's you set up a Steam account which is ok, but if you bought this as a gift for some one sort of takes out the fun. Just thought I'd mention that. Overall I would say its a good fun game but I would buy it as cheap as you can find it and the "Limited Editions" and/or others aren't worth it.

Oh and if you are buying this and you don't have the Internet don't buy it on PC, you need an Internet connection to verify the serial number for the game.

Hope this was helpful =)

Fallout New Vegas is the follow up to the extremely popular game, Fallout 3. Fallout 3 received a lot of compliments and rightfully so; the follow up, New Vegas, is a good game and was hyped up massively before its release, however a hint to seeing if a game (or anything really) is good, see if the hype is still there after. While for New Vegas it did have a lot of pre hype the hype after it was realized quickly fizzled down. Don't, however, think this means it is a bad game. The game is good, but not very different from Fallout 3.

Story-- 8.5/10
The story is interesting, with the feel of a classic story set in an irregular and uncomfortable setting. The story is; your character a courier was left for dead. You were shot in the head and left in a ditch, you happened to survive after you were found by a robot. You are now out to find who killed you, why and to get either revenge, your life back, money or power (Or all five). This leads you on a self driven ride filled with fights, interesting characters, side choosing and interesting conversations. The story is laid out well, with obvious choices that will make you a "Goody" or a "Baddie". The story is good however if you're a fan you will do the obvious thing (like me) and compare it to Fallout 3, which you will discover is much better. To people who are new to the game series I would say to buy Fallout 3.

Game Play -- 9/10
The game play is still the same layout with the full movement in either third or first person, with plenty of climbable areas that create new approaches and great cover. The conversations were always a huge part of the game series and still feel the same but with more in-depth options, actions, conversation options and characters. However don't let the fact that it has a more in-depth conversation game play make you think that you can convince all enemies to become friends, and that you can convince people to give you stuff for free. Or that every person you meet can be convinced to join you, this is all wrong. I mean you have more options which can mean the person hates you, likes you or will just decide to ignore you in every way. All of this is valuable throughout the game however.

Graphics/Sound -- 7/10
To be honest a 7 is pushing it, its not a realistic environment. Some edges look jagged, flat and overall rushed. However the amount of the game that is there shows a huge amount of effort. The details on the character are good enough and show what type of person the character is, the voice work (sync and suitability to the character) is very good and works well. Its not Mass Effect level but still very good.

Extra's
Fallout creates a huge world full of unnecessary people, weapons, side-missions, places and events that make you believe you are a real world. The side missions are fun to distract your self with as you level up, the hidden buildings and people are interesting and can lead to some fun scenarios. Of course the weapons...well they're just overly fun.

Overall the game is fun, but its on par with Fallout 3, still a fun game but you have to find something to will your self going to really get into it, the multiple ways to play through situations really show that this is a game that is designed to play over and over again.

Left 4 Dead is brought to you by VALVE; one of my personal favorite production company's for the simple reason that they don't mind experimenting with their games! Portal is a very good example...anyway back to Left 4 Dead. Left 4 Dead is a zombie survival game in which a group of four survivors have to get to a checkpoint to escape the infected zone.

Story -- 5/10
The story isn't really there, they don't really say how the infection happened, who each survivor is or any other basic info. However don't let this get you down, the purpose of this game is to entertain in its simplest way, through fun. With many different environments and 4 unique characters that will make you laugh with comments throughout the game it entertains though laughs and guts.

Game Play -- 6/10
The classic layout, full free movement in first person. Practically every thing is climbable, breakable and flammable.

Graphics -- 7/10
Good enough, great lighting and very realistic environments.

Online -- 9.5/10
The Online is one of the most awesome features for one simple reason; YOU CAN BE A ZOMBIE. It has the classic Team Vs Team in which the zombies have to stop the humans from finishing the level and the humans have to try and finish. Also if you Download it you can play a survival type game in which you have to survive an endless amount of zombies for as long as possible.

Extra's
You may have noticed I haven't written much on the above categories, but remember Valve is great for its cutting edge features.

Here is a small list of things that just make the game so brilliant:
Amazing Zombie AI
Big Boss Zombie's
The Chance to be a Zombie
The fact the zombie AI can actually HEAR noise
Brilliant Guns
Awesome Explosives
Funny Comments from the Characters
Detailed Maps
Multiple ways through each level
Commentary (Like movie commentary but for games, at certain parts you can listen to some interesting comments from the people who made the game) and there are many more.

The great thing about this game is that anyone can play it, and it doesn't will you to keep playing it at all. Which is the odd thing, most games have some aspect that will try and make people replay it, a ranking system or some other kind of cheats to unlock. This game offers nothing like that, yet if you ask any one who owns the game if they have played it more than at least 30 times they will probably say they've played it more. This is how you know you've found a king of a game; when nothing makes you keep playing but you still cant stop.

I hope this helped =)
