Batman fanatics have a new a game to dwell on, which catches your breath once you start playing the game. For some DC comic fans, it is a great twist in your gaming experience. You can see the different side of the story and enjoy the great cinematography and its effects. If you enjoyed playing the Batman GOTY with its better effects in 3D animation and some parts of the game which you enjoyed a lot, you should grab a copy of the latest DC comic game, Batman Arkham Asylum, and enjoy the fist-fighting and confusing challenge of the maps that deal a lot with Joker’s minions. This new version of Batman is much more interesting compared to the former, with its cool effects that heighten the intensity of the game.

As usual, this is a battle game between the Dark Knight of Gotham City and the Clown Prince of Crime. But take note, this is not just a mere battle between the two. Dark Knight will deal a lot with Joker’s minion and encounter famous villains in the real story of Batman. In this game, you play the Dark Knight who protects Arkham, where insane criminals, including the outrageous, unlawful and bloody Joker and his minions dwell.

This game is not as wholesome compared to other Batman comic games. You will notice the return of some undesirable characters in the animated series. Not only that; this game also exploits your imagination while playing your favorite Batman game. This isn’t just your typical cartoon Batman video game, as you can visualize erotic and mind boggling sexy outfits and some body parts exposure. The language is also sprinkled with inappropriate (some may think) languages such as “bitch” and “ass” among other terms. Also, this game displays a lot of bloody scenes, with dead bodies scattered all over the place, which could be very interesting for some.

In this gameplay, it’s not just defending the world against villains; before you reach that goal you have first to sink in yourself in dark, creepy world. You have this three main portion of the game – fist fighting, which Batman is good at; a battle in the shadows; and exploration. As you’re in a middle of quest, a lot of tough guys obstruct your way, hungry to beat the man of hour.

Fist fighting in Arkham Asylum is pretty much the definition of a breath taking art of defense/offense. The game allows Batman to move faster than his enemies and engage them in 360 degrees. You just guide your left stick towards which enemy you want to knock down and Batman follows suit. Through four available buttons -- strike, jump, stun and reverse – you can unleash Batman’s wrath on the hoodlums of the Earth. You can smash the strike button and beat the living hell out of the bad guys with a healthy set of animations; and you can easily turn around when you see the spider-sense icon pop-up above a bad guy's head.

This game gives a sense of great accomplishment when you beat down these hungry little bastards, by smashing some bats at them or beat them to the ground. A meter tally shows how good your combo is. As long you’re in the momentum of your attack and there’s consistency, your combo tally meter will keep on increasing until it reaches its maximum massive combo of eight. There are also breathtaking special moves that make the game so gripping once you’ve unlocked the secret attack moves. You may also utilize the items which Batman puts in his famous golden yellow belt to beat down those crazy little bastards.

Riddler can drag you to his 240 mind twisting riddles. Every time Batman is in the room, Riddler shakes the Dark Knight’s mind and it’s up to you to solve the riddles. Every crazy riddle you solve corresponds to a trophy. As you go along through the battles you grab mini-stories of each main villain. These mini-stories and audio blogs can help you discover why these villains became what they are. You have 42 bios to unlock.

The audio of the game works great. You can just sit and listen to the fascinating voice acting and sound. The sound and audio quality are so great especially in a Dolby surround type system. Likewise, graphics is superb and even sharper on Xbox 360.

There are some flaws to this game, however. To name a few: some cut-scenes in the opening cinematic don’t come out as good as one expects – some characters have bug-eyes and there’s a lot of shoddy lip-synching. This is probably due to the pixilated movie clips. But as a whole, this game is great. You’ll enjoy the fabulous cinematic and visual effects this game has to offer.

Batman Arkham Asylum is one the greatest comic game ever. This is not just one of your wholesome, typical Batman story. It is so much more than a full fun gameplay elements and well-told story. It gives you the total feel of being in the midst of the story. Those petty flaws in the story are negligible in comparison to the great extravagance of its wonderful features; it’s a game that everyone should play and enjoy.

The Batman: Arkham Asylum is an action packed game in the third person perspective.

The Batman: Arkham Asylum is about Joker’s plan to create chaos in Gotham City by collaborating with other anti-Batman in the Arkham Asylum. Needless to say, Batman once again uses his weapons, detective skills, stealth and combat skills to overcome his enemies. The Game of the Year version basically runs along the same plot but the new package includes two pairs of glasses which can be used for 3D on any TV set and 4 all-new challenge courses.

One definite accomplishment that this game can brag about is they now hold the Guinness world record for the title “most critically acclaimed superhero game ever.” Spike also gave them the Video Game Award. The game’s achievements also include: from Game Rankings, a 93% score for Batman: Arkham Asylum; Game Informer, a 9.5 out of 10 score; and Game Spy also critiqued the game with a perfect 5-star score. As a whole, game critics advise consumers to play this worthy game.

The game is all about using Batman’s skills to combat enemies and figure out problems to overcome challenges. The players control Batman’s every single move – escaping, hiding, gliding with the aid of the cape, crouching, jumping, and running are all controlled by the player. In the asylum, Joker manages to escape and along with other prisoners who were in the asylum too. They all agreed to Joker’s evil plan of destroying Gotham City. You’re probably thinking the plot sounds basically the typical Batman story standard. Not quite. Expect some twists to an adventure of a lifetime.

Suffice to say that this Batman is a fairly adult title. It’s not your simple cartoon. Arkham is a dark and dingy area inhabited by lunatics and psychopaths that tear buildings apart. Expect a lot of slaying and murdered bodies strewn all over. It may even surprise you to see Harley with a skimpy outfit that shows off some lady parts or Poison Ivy’s painted-on panties.

All these adult themes are attached to a very Batman-looking world that connects you to the story. Trust me, the most cerebral parts of the games are so apparent in many segments; moments that can really make you feel like you’re truly Batman on the longest night of his life.

There are three important moves that Batman has to employ when faced with an enemy. He can either engage in hand-to-hand counter moves, stun, or attack the enemy. Don’t ever underestimate the enemies because they posses different attack styles and are very skilled enemies when it comes to toppling down an opponent. You can acquire weapons in the game world; among the most common is the Batarang, which is an explosive sprayer with a detonator, and which you can also use as a grappling gun.

There are about 240 Riddler challenges in the game, which is really the driving motivation for the quest. Beyond these word problems you also have to find trophies that Riddler has tucked away in the asylum, and visual puzzles that you can only solve through the Detective Mode. This can be time consuming – it actually took me nine hours to finish, but it was pretty awesome. The Riddler test is essential to level up your skills, which can be very useful for future encounters. Not to worry, the Riddler also provides clues to unlock some of the challenges; thus you gain points.

When it comes to visual fidelity, Batman: Arkham Asylum is impeccable. The locale has just the right mix of the creepy and cool. The fact that it is able to depict a damaged Batman face and suit so well is truly something. Be warned though, there are still some screen tearing as CGI stuff tend to pixelize in some parts and the in-game cutscenes can really look terrible where guards with bug eyes look so grotesque; and there are a few shoddy lip synching as well. They’re not really that big a deal, but the issues are there and they can hurt the overall presentation. In spite of this, the sound effects and the visual effects are quite superb. The former really seems so realistic and full of emotions, while the latter is so vivid.

If you are a video game addict, be sure you have one of the generation’s best comic video game ever: Batman: Arkham Asylum (Game of the Year Edition). When you purchase your pack, you also get 3D glasses, which is a must to make the game more thrilling and astounding in every detail; and the all new challenge maps, which, as the name implies are your keys to more challenges in the game.

First there is no fan base support for this game and Obsidians own take at a role playing game. To put it softly, this game gives me the notion that it should never have been released in the first place. It does so much wrong and is damn right glitchy at times.

You won't be battling it out with a sword, or shooting fireballs at your enemy, instead, it takes place in some popular cities such as Moscow, Taipei, and even Rome. It does have a Mass Effect sort of conversation system, however it is more of a shooting your rifle or even strapping on a bull proof vest, sounds good yah!

Well, I am going to say that it is a good concept and everything, you can decide if you want to put a bullet in a mobsters head who is packing a machine gun, you can flirt with a sexy girl and end up saving her life. However, I am just getting tired of these games where you flirt with girls and have some kind of romance. That is a bit retarded if you ask me, I want to level up and be challenged, not work to get in some computer characters pants.

Most of the characters a lifeless and dull, the main pistol-packing bodyguard doesn't even speak in more than half of the cut scenes. What is he retarded or something, I mean seriously the characters are down right stupid. They don't ever really have any emotions or any lifelike attributes. They are just SO stereotypical.

You do have safe houses throughout the game where you can decide which guns and armor you want to use and upgrade. Again, cool idea with a modernized storyline. I mean you can check your email, get your missions, and even buy intel in the safe house.
The AI is also retarded in this game, if you run around a corner they simply lose track of you. In fact, sometimes they will just start blasting at the wall, or better yet while you are shooting them with SMG's they start swinging there fist at you, what? Some of the AI's actually get stuck in walls and floors, come on peeps sort out the friggin game, bell-ends.

Good concept, bad game. It is never a good sign when you are playing a game and have to ask yourself why do I bother, it almost seems they rushed the game out rather than fixed the glitches.

Split Second is an arcade game that would really thrill players especially those who love to see crashing and blowing objects. The action-movie like set will likely put players to total submission. It’s like you are in a James Bond or Jason Statham movie that you are able to crush four opponents with just a single blow. Destructive actions such as blowing cars, buildings, and train rails are exhilarating but once you learn the tracks and the tricks the excitement dies.

As you continue with the game, you will earn power by getting air, drifting and drafting. Your powers will be used to beat enemies by doing powerful attacks. Icons are shown indicating an opportunity to beat opponents but as you push a button, opponents start to do destructive actions such as metal pipes are dropped from a helicopter, an opening of a shortcut, or worse, a roadway would collapse. You can be a victim of your own actions.

There is a single-player campaign where you will be one of the contestants. Additional modes like Survivor mode where you are going to pass through the track with trucks dropping explosives. The Air Revenge Mode where you will be avoiding helicopters dropping missiles on you and getting those missiles back toward the helicopter. The game doesn’t offer much variety and flexibility because it will not take you long to memorize each track.

Online gaming is another feature of the game once you have finished the single-player campaign. It’s a nightmare here because you can’t control what’s going to happen next. AI’s are very aggressive but it lacks the murderous and merciless challenge that you will encounter when human players are playing and you can’t limit the number of vehicles in the race and set the number of laps. It’s a total destruction.

Using the Xbox 360 is a tough job in this game comparing to using it with a PC. There are some features that are difficult to uncover. Contextual prompts are missing. There are prompts that invite you to view an instant replay yet it doesn’t tell you how to do it. The sound though is a plus in this arcade game. The sound of crushing of steel behind you will greatly put you into oblivion. This is of course for those who love to see destructive things.

In this game you are a team, unlike in the previous versions. Here Lara will be moving swiftly and deftly across the ancient temples. These are updated version of the original Anniversary. Lara will be grabbing edges with her fingertips and you will need to tap a button to help her poise; such new things in this version make the game much easier than in the original version.

The game is made of solid actions like pulling this and that and jumping here and there. There are a number of levels in the game which include jungle, water, and snow among others. The puzzles are quite challenging and you will be required to do things accurately. You will like the PSP's version that has been transferred to UMD and is quiet clear. The version does not have drawbacks on the flip.

The game as well has drawbacks, the port side; the camera is a big problem, when you try to twist the camera to the right or left on the PSP you will see the buttons falling on corresponding shoulder buttons and they are quite slow. To solve this you can put the camera at the center with a triangle though expect this to be a harsh action and the viewpoint can get clammy. Battling with the enemy is not fun with the just like in the console version. In the game you will have to encounter wolves, raptors and mummies as you go through the new areas. The animal kingdom of the game is quite easy, when the bear comes to you, you should climb the stairs and the bears cannot climb the stairs. Here you will shoot Smokey to death and repeat the shooting at any other beast that comes towards you.

The other ordinary battles have their lighter side. When an enemy attacks Lara, you can press a button prompt on- screen and Lara jumps to the other side and a Matrix-style will begin. Then a red target will appear on the baddie and Lara can shoot causing grave damage. This is fun because you can shoot at the amazed enemies below you, as long as you are able to get the camera facing the side the enemies are located.

Anniversary on PSP looks sharper and lighter than it does on the PS2 version. However you will find the earth-tone temple visuals to be dull and they will at times bleed when you get when you roll the camera to whatever direction. Lara Croft Tomb Raider is a good game despite the drawbacks; the game play is thrilling and challenging. The game looks nice on the PSP's wide-screen with the costume changes, Croft Manor exploits and relics that were seen on the PS2. This is a solid adventure game that you will like and it follows various traits laid out in many Tomb Raider games.

Blizzard is really true to its words when it said that World of Warcraft: Cataclysm Expansion Pack is going to be a great hit. Indeed it was. With the ever presence of the dragon from Warcraft II, Deathwing unleashes hell in the city of Azeroth resulting in mammoth destruction. I personally call Deathwing as the “big bully” as he just rips anythingand everything smaller than his size. It is like a senior high school student beating a defenseless kindergarten.

A lot of renovations in the places of the previous game have been done. The capitol cities of Stormwind and Orgrimmar are now sporting new looks. Stormwind is partially destroyed because of disruptions brought by Deathwing. There are also new places which are introduced in the game, among them a new district called Dwarven which has also sprung up with its own auction house, inn, bank, and a lake.

On the other hand, modifications have also been done with Orgrimmar. When Thrall left, and Garrosh stayed, the latter took the chance to revamp the city. As to inhabitants, Taurens, Trolls, and Goblins still have their own place in the city, while Deepholm, the place of Deathwing, is located in the middle of a spheroid with a rainbow scenery and magnetic fields. Legends have it that in the city of Uldum, there is a powerful weapon hidden in the area which attracts the villains to go in there to grab power. The city of Uldum copies the architectural designs of the pyramids from Egypt. This city is on the other side of Skyfall.

New battlegrounds are also created for multiplayer. The new courses let the players explore the whole area to discover exciting zones as well as ruins. Most raids depend on the player’s discretion. There are a lot of useful tactics to be used for your game plan. During the course of the game, there is a feature panel that updates you of the events and current standings among the other players. In this panel, you are able to learn which players are awarded by a guild, what tasks are they doing, the number of boss’ they had beaten, and players who went to other levels.

Guilds also come in different levels. They range from level one up to level twenty, and they are earned by achievements: hitting the battleground, finishing the quests, or by defeating a boss. The Guild achievements are changed from the Guild money. Anyone can benefit from the achievement instead of having just one person use the cash. Blizzard also emphasized archeology; adding vital facts and information to the game while also giving historical details about Azeroth. This is one way, they can entice more players.

Goblin areas are also terrific. There is a quest in the game that gives you power to run down any enemy who consider you a pest. Moreover, the Goblin zone also offers a bit of hilarity. For instance, there is a certain party in this zone where you invite guests and accommodate them by beating their heads. Absurd but quite funny, really.
