But in exchange for using the book's hidden magic to overcome oponents in battle you must yourself offer a sacrifice, perhaps even something as precious a life.

Played out against a background of a fantasy world borrowing ideas from mythology, Soul Sacrifice is a Role Playing action game designed exclusively for the PlayStation Vita and using to the full the technology introduced by the system. The game relies on the players in game decisions to decides how the physical characteristics and mental attributes of their character develops and changes and also how the the story progresses.
The player takes the part of a slave destined to become a sacrificial offering who, as the moment of sacrifice draws ever nearer, discovers an ancient and forbidden book which grants to viewers the ability to relive long past conflicts between monsters and magicians through which the reader can acquire magical powers of his own. But as, with all good things, there is a price to be paid; in exchange for the powers granted a sacrifice must be made on the part of the reader and the question is posed how much are you prepared to offer in exchange for the powers you need to defeat your many opponents in battles against monsters drawn from the world of mythology. Something personal, a prized possession, an arm, a leg, or ironically, your life. That is for you to decide.
