As the fourth installment in The Sims 3 game series, The Sims 3: Generations on the PC is an expansion pack that enhances game play in the way that fans will appreciate.
The Sims 3 games are known for opening up the world in new and unique ways that players do not expect. The features that each expansion pack brings to the game allow players to further immerse themselves in the world of The Sims. The Sims 3: Generations is no different. Generations adds goals, interactions and items that enhance the family and household dynamics of the game. While there are not any major changes to game play, here are some of the things that have been added that give The Sims 3 : Generations players a different experience.
Better Parties
While wedding and house parties have been available since the very first The Sims game, in Generations your Sims are able to throw themed parties that give them more personality. Sims are now able to throw and attend bachelor and bachelorette parties that come with party dancers and perhaps some adult entertainment. Teenage Sims can also throw parties at their house. They are also now able to attend school dances.
New Family-Centered Items
Every new expansion pack in The Sims 3 game adds some new items to play around with. The Sims 3: Generations is no different. Some of the items are more centered to younger Sims but most people can have fun on them. Some items include:-
Sandboxes
Strollers
Playground equipment
Tree houses
Bunk beds
There is also a video camera feature that allows your Sim to record any event while it is happening. They then have the option of replaying the video on any television available.
New Interactions and Personalities
Some of the new interactions available depend on family relationships. For example, mischievous children can receive harsher punishments (such as time-outs or being grounded) for their bad behavior.
There is a new rebellious character trait that gives positive points for pulling pranks successfully. Being able to pull pranks on other Sims is another thing that has been added. Pranks such as doorbell ditch, whoopee cushions and throwing eggs at houses can be just as much fun for the players as it is for the Sim.
As in real life, your philandering Sim can earn a not-so-flattering reputation for being a player. That means that Sims who like to whoo-hoo with many different people become known for their promiscuous reputation. This can prevent them from hooking up with other Sims who may not find their reputation very appealing.
These are some of the things that make The Sims :3 Generations a nice addition to your collection. However, if you are looking to add a whole new experience to your Sims experience, this game may not be what you are looking for. While it does add new features, the features enhance the things that are already there. Unfortunately, not many new experiences are brought to the table.
