Worms: Open Warfare 2, where to start with the review, well you control four worms at your command, tackle on and defeat three other worm teams across different landscapes. Weaponry like the concrete donkey makes a comeback while ridiculously named new items of weaponry are introduced, such as the explosive buffalo of lies. The worms themselves are the source of the game’s charm and staying power in the market over the years while the weapons system will keep you on your toes.

Single player options are varied, and among them the most important is the campaign mode where you guide a team of worms into increasingly challenging and changing terrain and landscapes. These lands will serve as history courses as they take you to differently themed backdrops over the course of the campaign. At the end of each level is a very difficult boss. The puzzle mode is as equally difficult, you must kill all the worms you see in your screen but here’s the catch: with only a limited number of arsenal weapons. These specific levels are designed in such a way that there is a right way to do it. A time attack mode sets your goal as to reach an exit point in the level as quickly as you can.

A game against computer-controlled opponents is never as unpredictable and exciting as when you're playing against a live opponent, which makes the inclusion of online play to Open Warfare such a significant addition. In addition to regular matches, you can play a simple variant called forts, where the landscape consists of two giant forts on opposite sides of the screen, and rope race, a fun little event where you have to show your prowess with the ninja rope by swinging your way across a level faster than your opponents. Interaction with other players features voice chat support, clan support, and a messaging system.

There are lots of weapons, plenty of single and multiplayer content to dig into, and enough customization options to really hook established fans. At the same time, efforts to diversify the Worms experience aren't mind-blowing, and the game doesn't go out of its way to reel in new players.

Overall would rate this 8/10.
